About Fern:

Growing up on a farm with three brothers, Cathy Moore fondly remembers learning to sew from her mother in a cozy back room.  She left the country life to earn a degree in textiles and subsequently moved to New York City to work in the industry.

In 2006, Moore founded Fern in a Brooklyn brownstone. Starting with a wide variety of handmade goods, it wasn’t long before she focused her interests on gadget gear.

She originally began using only textiles from her personal collection, but became inspired by all of the new fabrics and fresh patterns of up-and-coming designers. Cathy offers her wares online as well as in various boutiques around the country, and has never stopped using the skills she developed back home.
