You stick the carafe onto the neck of the bottle, then turn the bottle over. The wine flows into the carafe in about a minute and a half. It is kind of mesmerizing I must say. You then can either serve from the carafe or you can flip the bottle back over and the wine effortlessly returns to its original bottle and is ready to go!
