In the post 9/11 world, it’s easy to get in the mindset of thinking of travel as more of a bother than a privilege. The amazement that once was afforded to the concept of being able to fly through the air to another country or continent over land and sea has been replaced with complaints about security lines, overbooked airports (LaGuardia we’re looking at you), and then general unpleasantness of having to pay for everything from meals to blankets once you’ve actually managed to get on the plane.
While we admit that traveling might not be what it once was, we challenge everyone to remember how amazing it is to get on a plane with a document smaller than a children’s book and be in another world in a matter of hours! With the world at your fingertips through the Internet, it’s easy to forget that you have to go to place to really learn about it.
We’re still working towards are goal of being jet set, but until we have the bank account to match our itinerary, we’re content to at least be ready for that day…let’s call it the power of wishful thinking.
